Frequently Asked Questions

  • With a particular focus on Parkinson’s disease, Plexity also works to support people living with a range of neurological conditions that affect the brain or nerves, and can influence movement, coordination, balance and daily function.

  • We offer free consultations, movement and function assessments, personalised one-on-one coaching, Parkinson’s-specific exercise classes (including CounterPunch Boxing), and neurophysiotherapy. Sessions integrate neurophysiotherapy and movement science expertise to support safe, adaptable movement that meets you where you’re at.

  • There’s no online booking. To get started, contact us via the form, email, or phone. I’ll be in touch personally to guide you through the next steps.

  • Sessions and classes are primarily movement-based. We usually begin with a warm-up to prepare both your body and nervous system. From there, we move into targeted strength, balance, and coordination work designed to challenge movement in ways that translate to your everyday life. Cognition challenges and dual-tasking are woven throughout, because real life rarely asks us to do just one thing at a time.

Don’t be surprised if playful elements show up too. Boxing-style movements, reaction drills, and games are often part of our approach to keep sessions engaging and effective for both the brain and body. Everything is adapted to how you’re feeling on the day, with options to scale up or down as needed.

  • Private sessions: 18 Allen Street out of HealthFit Gym (2nd floor with lift access)

  • Yes. Plexity is designed to be flexible and responsive to change. Sessions adapt to how you’re moving and feeling over time, with options to scale movement up or down as needed. For safety, we may ask for medical clearance or collaboration with your healthcare team, particularly if there are recent changes in health, new symptoms, or increased risk factors. This helps ensure sessions are appropriate, supportive, and aligned with your broader care.

  • No. Sessions are designed to meet you where you’re at physically and cognitively. Movements are adaptable and scaled to suit different abilities, energy levels and confidence.

  • We expect that. Plexity understands and respects the changing nature of neurological conditions and how they can present from day to day. Sessions are adapted to your abilities on the day, ensuring movement remains safe, and meaningful.

  • Book a consultation and let’s chat. Plexity is designed to complement formal rehab, or for people who have finished but still want support to move confidently and engage in the activities that matter to them. If standard exercise programmes don’t fully meet your needs or goals, we can work together to create a plan that fits you, your priorities and your life.

  • We understand that bodies and brains change over time, and we are committed to providing safe, specific and engaging movement tailored to you. Where needed, and with your permission, we may collaborate with your other healthcare providers to ensure your care aligns and that we have all the information necessary to make your sessions safe and appropriate.

  • We limit classes to a maximum of 10 people. Groups are intentionally small to keep exercise safe, personalised and relevant. Smaller groups allow exercises to be tailored, monitored, and adapted to suit everyone’s abilities and goals.

  • Wear comfortable clothing you can move in and supportive footwear. Bring a water bottle. All equipment needed for sessions is provided.

  • Sessions are held in accessible community or studio spaces. Location details are shared when you book or enquire.

  • No. Plexity does not replace physiotherapy, occupational therapy, or medical treatment. It complements existing care. You’re always encouraged to continue working with your healthcare team as needed.

  • Yes. Plexity values collaboration and continuity of care. We work alongside neurophysiotherapists, and we are also happy to connect to your neurologist, GP and other health professionals where appropriate.

  • That’s completely normal and you’re likely not alone in feeling this. You’re welcome to reach out, ask questions, or arrange a consultation and let’s meet and have a chat, no obligations. There’s no pressure to “be ready.”
